Alva Noto plus Ryuichi Sakamoto is a collaboration project between the German minimal artist Carsten Nicolai (also co-owner of the raster-noton.de label) and the famous Japanese musician Ryuichi Sakamoto. They have made 4 releases to date: Vrioon, Insen, Revep ep & Insen Live dvd (which features video from some of their live performances). Alva Noto processes sounds from Sakamoto’s piano, creating a mix of solo piano and glitchy micro electronic sounds. Recommended to all people addicted to beautiful minimal & experimental music.
