Angels of Venice – Sad Lisa

Originally from Dallas, Texas, founding member Carol Tatum has been playing stringed instruments since the age of seven. With her extensive recording and live performance experience Carol’s contribution to “Angels of Venice” is as primary songwriter, arranger and producer. She is an ASCAP member and published writer having co-written songs for the rock group Kingdom Come on both PolyGram and Warner Bros. German labels.

Her compositions and arrangements have graced movie and video soundtracks as well as various CD compilations. Released in July of 1998, Windham Hill’s “the Renaissance Album” boasts Carols interpretation of an early 14th century work while her arrangement of Cat Stevens song “Sad Lisa” appears on the Windham Hill Records’ compilation “Summer Solstice”. “Summer Solstice” remained #6 on Billboard’s New Age chart throughout the summer of 1997. Carol’s spirited and venturesome nature has led her to independently release three CDs of original compositions in the U.S., Canada, Taiwan and Hong Kong. The second of these “Angels” CD’s was reviewed and “highly recommended” by Billboard magazine. She has been interviewed three times for the Los Angeles Times Calendar section (1996-1997). In her spare time, Carol enjoys studying 12-13th century medieval European history. Carol currently makes her home in Glendale, California.
